Monarch is inspired by Her Majesty Queen Elisabeth II, sadly no longer with us. The way the perfume has been composed is one of aloofness, strength and quiet power, echoing the Iceni queen Boadicea challenging Roman rule after the death of her husband and the shocking treatment of herself and daughters. Monarch is a stealthy warm and comforting scent with layers of resins, woods, oud, spices, leather, floral notes and a gorgeous opening of red ripe berries, artemisia, black tea and cypress. The heart flowers are a beautiful arrangement of heady roses and jasmine complimented by the fresher peppery notes of freesia and creamy lily of the valley, the late Queen’s favourite flower. Lushness meets purity, exalted skilfully by pink pepper, cardamon and a whisper of cinnamon. Monarch has a classic Boadicea base of woods, resins, oud and vanilla with earthy patchouli and ribbons of supple leather. It wears close to skin, discreetly exuding a heavenly floral character, the red berry and tea duo spiced with cardamom and cinnamon lift the flowers quiet oud.

Mr. Burberry by Burberry is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. Mr. Burberry was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian. Top notes are Grapefruit, Cardamom, Tarragon and Mint; middle notes are Cedar, Birch Leaf, Nutmeg and Lavender; base notes are Vetiver, Guaiac Wood, Sandalwood, Amberwood, Benzoin and Oakmoss. Burberry presents the new fragrance Mr. Burberry in April 2016, as the masculine version of My Burberry from 2014. The creator of this line is perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. “Mr. Burberry is a structure of a classic aromatic fougère that has inspired so many famous fragrances, but this has been totally remodeled and remastered to introduce a radically contemporary creation in its proportions and ingredients.” wwd The composition is announced as woody - herbal. Its ingredients are inspired by tradition of British perfumery. It opens with zesty accords of grapefruit, cardamom and tarragon. The heart notes include birch leaf, nutmeg oil and cedar, followed by the base of sandalwood, vetiver and guaiac wood. The neck of the glass bottles is decorated with the same gabardine material Burberry uses to make its amous trenchcoats. The face of the campaign is Josh Whitehouse, accompanied by, Oriental Anderson, and shot by Steve McQueen. The fragrance is available as 30, 50, 100 and 150 ml Eau de Toilette with additional cosmetic collection.
